Green Tapestry Bowl

Tapestry glass begins with over 150 thin 1mm glass strands (stringers) that are fused together into a striped glass slab. I cut the striped slab into narrow strips ... rearranging them into a woven pattern. I add depth by alternating strips so that some are more prominent while others recede into the glass.

Tapestry glass is the bowl's focal point. The same glass colors are echoed in stripes that expand the full glass depth. 65 glass pieces were hand cut and arranged with the tapestry glass to create this dramatic bowl.

The bottom of the bowl is completely round. It does not have a flat bottom. (Without a stand the bowl wobbles on a flat surface.) To look its best I recommend using a bowl stand or plate stand like the ones you see in some of the gallery photos.

This purchase is for the glass bowl only, not the display stands.

This bowl weighs over 4 pounds.  It is 1/4" thick. Although it is 100% glass, it is not delicate. Treated with care it can last a lifetime.

Fused glass is never a perfect rectangle or perfect circle. By its very nature, measurements are approximate. This bowl is approximately 14-1/4" across.  It is approximately 2-3/4" deep.
