Purple, Green & Blue Gems

Approximately 100 pieces of glass have been fused together to create this vivid platter. The edges are black opalescent glass. Other glass in this piece is all transparent. The center band feels like square gems. 

The square gem band is the full 1/4" glass thickness.  The borders are single layers of color with clear glass caps. You can see the glass layers when you look into the platter edges.

This 1/4" thick platter weighs just under 2 pounds. Although it is 100% glass, it is not delicate. Treated with care it can last a lifetime.

Fused glass is never a perfect rectangle or perfect circle. By its very nature, measurements are approximate. This platter is approximately 11-1/2" x 6-1/2".  It is approximately 1-3/4" deep.
